X Y Jet romped in Saturday’s $150,000 Sunshine Millions Sprint S. at Gulfstream Park for the second straight stakes win, and fourth in a row overall for the 4-year-old son Kantharos.

In Saturday’s Sunshine Millions, X Y Jet was on top of his game once again following a dominating performance in last month’s Mr. Prospector S. (G3), which he won by nearly 10 lengths. Like that race, he went right to the front once again, and was just too much for the competition, widening his margin the entire way to get the six furlongs in 1:08.58, just a half-second off the track record.

“Wow. Just wow,” winning trainer Jorge Navarro said. “He broke kind of slow, which made me a little nervous, but he was coming from the eight hole so he didn’t have enough time to be right there. He’s just a super horse. He’s a fast, fast horse.”

X Y Jet upped his record to 5-5-1 in 13 starts and has earned $304,893 for his owner Geffenstein Farm. 

With the win, X Y Jet also became Kantharos’ leading earner surpassing fellow stakes winners Mr. Jordan and Katie’s Kiss.
