Two Sixty gets her first stakes win in the $400,000 My Dear Girl S. - Lauren King photo

Two Sixty broke first out of the gate and never looked back as she strolled to a 6 1/4-length victory in the $400,000 Florida Sire My Dear Girl S. Sept. 28 at Gulfstream Park.

The 2-year-old filly is Uncaptured third stakes winner this year and has put him comfortably atop the Florida Second-Crop Sires list and in the top 10 nationally. With progeny earnings to date over $1.6, he is the only Florida sire in seven figures.

Two Sixty started very quickly and put herself in front going into the first turn. Leading the field through a half-mile in :47.76 and six furlongs in 1:12.29, she poured it on in the stretch to win in hand in 1:44.41 for the 1 1/16-miles on the fast main track.

“A lot of the credit goes to (jockey) Edgard (Zayas) because he told me after her first win that this filly will win a (Sire) Stakes race,” Nick Tomlinson, assistant to trainer Mark Casse, said. “I’m glad he was right and I’m glad it was this one.”

After losing her rider in the Susan's Girl S. on Aug. 31, Two Sixty is now 2-0-1 in four starts and has earned $294,000. She is owned by Gary Barber, who purchased her for $260,000 out of this year's OBS March Sale of 2-year-olds.

Two Sixty was bred in Florida by Shade Tree Thoroughbreds and is the first foal out of Jim's Lonesa, a sister to three stakes winners.
