Catherinethegreat dominates her debut at Gulfstream Park - Lauren King photo

Catherinethegreat lived up to her name in her maiden special weight win Saturday at Gulfstream Park, powering to a 10 1/4-length score to become Uncaptured's third winner from his first crop of runners.

Uncaptured's winners have all come in maiden special weight races at Gulfstream Park, with a eye-opening average winning margin of seven lengths. He ranks in the top two on the Freshman Sire list by winners and earnings.

Catherinethegreat sat just behind Lady Dude early on, then rocketed past the pacesetter before entering the stretch and was all alone thereafter, finishing the five furlongs on the sloppy track in :57.83.

The gray/roan filly sold for $170,000 to her owner John Oxley at the 2017 OBS October Yearling Sale. She is a half-sister to the stakes winner Katinka.
