First-crop sire Uncaptured has seen good returns on his first yearlings offered at the sales, including a session-topper at OBS October on Oct. 11.

John Oxley, who campaigned the stallion, paid $170,000 for the Florida-bred filly named Catherinethegreat, out of Classy City Lady, by Carson City. The filly is a half to recent Gulfstream Park stakes winner Katinka. She was consigned by Turtle Pond Farm and bred by Wendy Christ and Kathie Haines.

His highest-selling colt brought $80,000 a month prior at Keeneland September, his only yearling cataloged at the sale. The colt is out of She’s Kissable, by Montbrook, a half to G3 winner Wall Street Wonder. He was consigned by Vinery Sales and purchased by Paul Sharp.

His other top sales results have included a $90,000 filly and a $60,000 colt.

From the 36 yearlings that have been sold in 2017, 31 have been sold for an average of $37,046, over six times his bred-on stud fee of $6,000.
