Big win for The Big Beast filly in Gulfstream MdSpWt
Sunday, September 29, 2019
Big Affair ran away from the field in the stretch to score an emphatic six-length victory in a 5 1/2-furlong maiden special weight race for 2-year-old fillies Saturday afternoon at Gulfstream Park, making her the eighth winner from The Big Beast's first crop of runners.

Ranked second on the Florida Freshman Sires list, one of The Big Beast's winners, Inspiressa, has gone on to run second in the Del Mar Debutante (G1). Another, Creekmore, is entered in Sunday's $75,000 Kip Deville S. at Remington Park.

Big Affair's impressive win came after a heated battle with Go Gator Girl Go through the first four furlongs. After a half-mile in :46.94, the eventual winner put away her challenger and drew away to win in style.

Big Affair is owned by Alex and JoAnn Lieblong, who purchased her for $90,000 at the 2019 OBS Spring Sale of 2-year-olds in April. She was bred in Florida by Philip and Karen Matthews.
