Adios Charlie's Mo Cash wins third stake of 2017

Mo Cash crossed the wire a three-quarter length winner of Saturday's $125,000 Marion County S. at Tampa Bay Downs, giving the 3-year-old son of Adios Charlie a trio of stakes wins this year.

Mo Cash, who stalked a few lengths off the lead early on, made a bold move between horses in the far turn, then dug in to hold off Three Rules to get the seven furlongs in 1:22.84 on a fast main track.

“This horse is a fighter, and I had a good feeling about him in the post parade and during the (warm-up). When I saw the hole, I knew I had to go through it, and he kept fighting all the way to the wire,” jockey Antonio Gallardo said.

Owned by the Marco Corp., Mo Cash improved his record to 4-2-0 in eight starts and has picked up $246,984. He won the Sophomore S., also at Tampa, and the American Fabius S. at Gulfstream Park earlier this year.

Mo Cash is Adios Charlie's leading earner this year and is one of his six black type horses in 2017. He is Florida's second-leading active sire heading into the 2018 breeding season, when he will stand for $3,000 live foal.
