Up in Smoke winning the 2020 Game Face S. at Gulfstream Park - Lauren King

The Big Beast tallied his second stakes winner of the year on Saturday when Up in Smoke earned her first black type win in the $75,000 Game Face S. at Gulfstream Park.

The 3-year-old filly was last after a quarter-mile, then began a sustained move towards the leaders and struck the front in upper stretch. She drew clear late to win by two lengths in 1:16.22 for the 6 1/2-furlongs.

Up in Smoke won the first three starts of her career before finishing fourth in the 1 1/16th-mile Hollywood Wildcat S. last month. With Saturday's win, she is 4-0-0 in five starts and has earned $129,318.

The winner is owned by Black Type Thoroughbreds and R. A. Hill Stable and was bred by John and Carole Rio. Up in Smoke's dam Therese is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Proud Accolade.
