Stellar opening day at OBS April sale for Uncaptured
Tuesday, April 24, 2018
The first session of the April 24-27 OBS 2-year-old sale yielded excellent returns for first-crop sire Uncaptured, topped by a $350,000 filly purchased by Alex and JoAnn Lieblong.

With four lots sold on opening day, Uncaptured's average price was $194,250, more than 32 times his bred-on stud fee.

The Lieblong's filly, who had breezed 10 seconds flat at the Under Tack show, was cataloged as hip No. 248 and consigned by SBM Training and Sales, agent. Her stakes-placed dam Dandy Dulce has five winners to date, including stakes-placed filly For Emma.

Hip No. 291, consigned by TIP, agent, sold for $185,000 to Reddam Racing, LLC. The colt's strong female family includes champion third dam Istria (GB) and Grade 1 winner Mayo on the Side. Another colt, hip No. 211 consigned by Craig Wheeler, agent, brought $180,000 from Whitehorse Stables. The colt is from the same family as two-time Canadian champion Are You Kidding Me and Grade 2 winner Recapturetheglory.

Uncaptured has an additional 15 lots cataloged in the final three days of the Ocala auction.
