Shadowbdancing, a 5-year-old son of Florida’s leading sire Montbrook, became the latest stallion prospect for his sire when he added the $300,000 Prairie Meadows Cornhusker H. (G2) to his impressive resume on June 26th, drawing off late to score by a length and notch his first graded stakes victory.

The win was Shadowbdancing’s eighth in a stakes race, but biggest in a career that has seen him amass earnings of $622,495. The dark bay stalked the early pace in the 1 1/8-mile event before taking over at the top of the stretch and proving best in the field of nine, stopping the timer in 1:48.24 over a fast local main track.

"The horse settled really nice down the backside," said jockey Eddie Razo Jr. "At the three-eighths pole, I said 'Go ahead.' He's a very nice horse."

Trained by Terrel Gore for owner RNB Racing LLC, Shadowbdancing has been the model of consistency and durability, compiling a record of 10-5-3 from 24 starts in four years of racing. After breaking his maiden as a 2-year-old, he captured a pair of stakes at Prairie Meadows as a 3-year-old, including the Prairie Meadows Derby. Shadowbdancing captured several more stakes along the way before fittingly returning to Iowa to capture its biggest handicap event Saturday night – earning his way to the stallion shed at the finish of his racing career.

Shadowbdancing was bred in Florida by Ocala Stud Farm, which sold him as a 2-year-old at OBS for $200,000. He hails from the Deputy Minister mare Deputy’s Mistress.
