Prospective filly rallies to win $200,000 Susan's Girl S.

Ceci Valentina finished with a flourish in Saturday's $200,000 Susan's Girl S. at Gulfstream Park, coming from ninth to win the seven-furlong contest for 2-year-old fillies by 1 1/2-lengths.

The winner capped off an excellent past week for Prospective, who seven winners in the last five days and is among the top five Florida Third-Crop Sires in several categories, including earnings, winners and stakes horses.

Ceci Valentina, who broke her maiden in her second lifetime start on Aug. 3, was well off the pace on Saturday until entering the stretch, when she rallied down the center of the track, making up four lengths in the final sixteenth to snatch the win.

“It was a hard race,” said winning jockey Marcos Meneses. “But in the stretch she really gave me a good run. Today it worked out for us.” 

Ceci Valentina is owned by her breeder Amalio Lozano and is 2-0-1 in three starts and has earned $162,750. She is from the same female family as multiple grade 2 winner Classy Cara.
