Overdriven colt scores in debut on Santa Anita Park turf

Arms Runner won at first asking at Santa Anita Park on April 20, taking a 6 1/2-furlong downhill turf course maiden special weight contest by a half-length.

The 3-year-old Overdriven colt is trained by Peter Miller for Rockingham Racing, who purchased the gray/roan colt at the 2016 OBS Spring Sale of 2-year-olds in Training for $525,000.

Arms Runner covered the 6 1/2-furlongs in 1:14.53, running down pacesetter Dog Gone Lenny in the stretch (VIDEO). 

The winner was bred by Ocala Stud and is out of Back to Basics, dam of graded stakes winner Calculator.

With 14 winners to date in 2017, Overdriven is Florida's leading Second-Crop sire. He is standing this year at Ocala Stud for $2,500 live foal.
