One Turn Johnny swoops to maiden special weight victory
Saturday, October 26, 2019
The Big Beast now has a dozen First-Crop winners after One Turn Johnny came from well off the pace to break his maiden by 1 1/2-lengths Oct. 26 at Gulfstream Park West.

A top-10 Freshman sire this year by winners, The Big Beast bred 113 mares during the 2019 season, which is the most of his first four years at stud.

One Turn Johnny was well off the pace early in the 5 1/2-furlong maiden special weight contest before making his move on the turn. Despite being four wide, he rolled past the pacesetters to win by 1 1/2-lengths.

Owned and trained by Steve Dwoskin, One Turn Johnny was bred in Florida by Sabrina Plumley. The first foal out of Ocean Boulevard, the chestnut colt hails from the same family as Florida stalwart Seacliff.
