Bred by Ocala Stud in Florida, Almost a Valentine led throughout in her 6 1/2-furlong victory, drawing off late in the stretch to win eased up at the wire.

Almost a Valentine is a half-sister to Rigoletta, winner of the Grade 1 Oak Leaf S. Their dam, Almost Aprom Queen, comes from a family that includes Sea of Green, who won or placed in 16 stakes and Lady Gin, a three-time stakes winner.
