Tackleberry's gate to wire win in the $125,000 Jack Dudley Sprint H. Nov. 13 at Calder made him stakes winner number five on the year for his sire Montbrook. Ocala Stud's venerable stallion is Florida's leading sire of the past two years, is ranked second this year, and is the number one in terms of career stakes winners. Breeders' Cup Sprint (G1) winner Big Drama is the all-time leading earner for his sire, with $2,639,560 in his 16 career outings.

Tackleberry made the lead in the six furlong Dudley a few jumps out of the gate, and was never headed at any point thereafter. The dark bay/brown carved out a solid half-mile in :45.58 seconds with a 1 1/2-length lead. He widened his margin in the final two furlongs to win by 5 1/4-lengths in 1:11.80.

Ocala Stud bred 3-year-old Tackleberry from the Concerto mare Box of Joy. With the victory in the Dudley, he is now 4-2-0 in seven starts, earning $147,085 for owner/trainer Luis Olivares.
