Montbrook. Florida's leading sire of 2010 stakes winners with nine, got his fourth repeat black-type winner when Christmas Ship took the $50,000 Luther Burbank H. on Aug. 1. This was the third career stakes win for the 5-year-old mare, who won the 1 1/6-mile turf event at Santa Rosa by a nose.

Christmas Ship won the Donna Jensen H. by 13-plus lengths on Apr. 28 following some tough stakes at Gulfstream Park and Santa Anita. In the Burbank, she took back early and was three-wide on the backstretch and the final turn. Still boxed in a furlong from the wire, she went very wide and came flying home to get up in the last couple of jumps.

Ocala Stud consigned and sold Christmas Ship at the 2007 OBS Select Calder Sale for $95,000. She has made 35 starts in her career, sporting a 5-5-8 record with earnings of $267,870. She is trained by Jerry Hollendorfer, who also is part owner, along with Mary Jo Amlie and George Todaro.
