Kantharos’ latest winner, his 16th, came Friday in the finale at Gulfstream Park when first-time starter Mom’s a Cougar won by 1 ¼-lengths in a six-furlong maiden affair for 2-year-old fillies.

Mom’s a Cougar, a Northwest Stud Stables homebred, comes from a very prolific female family that includes the likes of multiple Grade 1 millionaire Society Selection and graded stakes winners Sea of Secrets and Love That Jazz.
