Brother Bobo gave Florida’s leading freshman sire his ninth winner from his first crop with a very sharp-looking maiden special weight score Monday at Gulfstream Park. The winner also pushed Kantharos’ progeny earnings in 2014 past the $400,000 mark, putting him in the top 10 on the national First-Crop sire list.

Brother Bobo closed from sixth with a rush to win the 5 ½ furlong contest by a widening length and a quarter. Bred in Florida by Milan Kosanovich and Machmer Hall, Brother Bobo is a half-brother to $800,000 earner and six-time stakes winner Ribo Bobo.
