Kantharos collects second MSW winner
Wednesday, August 13, 2014
Ocala Stud's first-year stallion Kantharos got his second winner on Aug. 12 in a 5 1/2-furlong maiden special weight race for 2-year-olds. Seraph, bred in Florida by Katherine Devall, was making his racing debut for trainer Brad Cox and owner Michael Langford.

Seraph came from near the back of the nine-horse field to win going away by 3 1/4- lengths under Jesus Castanon.

Seraph is out of the prolific producer Seraphic Too, dam of six winners from seven foals, including seven-time stakes winner Evelyn's Dancer. Langford purchased Seraph for $35,000 out of the 2014 OBS Spring Sale this past April.

Kantharos, winner of the Grade 2 Saratoga Special and Grade 3 Bashford Manor S. at age two, stood this year at Ocala Stud for $5,000 live foal.
