High Cotton now among top 10 freshman sires
Friday, August 5, 2011
Cottonpickinwabbit gave freshman sire High Cotton his fourth winner to date with a 1 1/2-length victory going five furlongs Aug. 5 at Mountaineer Park. The win moved the Ocala Stud stallion into the top 10 among all North American first-crop sires.

Bred in Florida by Oak Leaf Farm, Cottonpickinwabbit is owned and trained by Matthew Peebles, who bought the chestnut colt in 2010 at the OBS August open yearling sale.

High Cotton, winner of both the Kentucky Jockey Club S. (G2) and Iroquois S. (G3) as a juvenile, had his first stakes horse when Tarpy's Goal ran third in the Grade 2 Futurity S. at Belmont Park on July 3.
