Florida's top-three freshman sire Gottcha Gold scored the sixth winner from his first crop when the colt C D Gold went gate-to-wire in front-running fashion in a seven furlong maiden special weight contest Oct. 26 at Calder.

Bred in Florida by Ocala Stud, the bay colt is the fourth winner in as many foals out of C D Player, whose siblings include the stakes winners Danaher Steve, Desktop, and Bubba Higgins. The colt is now owned by N. T. S. Stable, Inc. and has earned $53,930. Prior to his maiden win, C D Gold ran second in the $73,000 Seacliff S.

N. T. S. and trainer Milt Wolfson bought C D Gold for $42,000 out of the Ocala Horses of Racing Age sale in June from the consignment of Ocala Stud.
