Kantharos, Florida’s leading freshman sire, got his fourth winner on Saturday with Free Flying’s three-length victory in a 6 ½-furlong maiden special weight tussle at Gulfstream Park.

Free Flying led from start to finish, setting all the fractions and drawing clear at the head of the stretch for the easy victory.

Free Flying was bred in Florida by David and Madeline Nowicki and Iron Oak Farm; she is out of Free Hill, a half-sister to multiple stakes winner Dashing Devil. She was purchased by her owner Stonestreet Stables out of the 2013 OBS Winter Mixed Sale.
