First foal is a colt for G2 winner Overdriven
Wednesday, January 15, 2014

Overdriven, the Grade 2-winning son of Tale of the Cat, sired his first foal when a colt was born late Sunday, Jan. 12th at J. Michael O’Farrell Jr.’s Ocala Stud in Ocala, FL.

The bay colt is out of stakes-producing Gate Dancer mare Call Me Dancer, who was the first of 110 mares covered by Overdriven in his first book at stud in 2013. The breeder of the Florida-bred colt is Ocala Stud.

Overdriven was arguably the top 2-year-old in New York in 2011 after impressively breaking his maiden first-time out in :56 2/5 at Belmont, earning a 100 Beyer. Out of the multiple graded stakes-producing French Deputy mare Air France, Overdriven closed out an undefeated juvenile campaign with a four-length victory in the Sanford S. (G2) at Saratoga. He’s set to stand his second season in 2014 for a fee of $3,000 S&N at Ocala Stud.
