Saturday, June 16, 2012

Two-year-old My Daddy's Dollars struck paydirt first-time out Saturday in a $39,000 maiden special weight race at Calder, becoming the first winner from the debut crop of multiple Graded stakes winner Gottcha Gold.

The Florida-bred juvenile broke on top in the five-furlong heat and took the field wire to wire. My Daddy's Dollars is trained by Eddie Plesa Jr. for owner/breeder Laurie Plesa. The bay colt is out of the Forest Camp mare Forest Retreat.

Gottcha Gold, by Coronado's Quest out of the Pleasant Tap mare Gottcha Last, is a three-time Graded stakes winner of $933,570 who also ran second in the Pimlico Special (G1) and Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile. The brilliant miler was also campaigned by trainer Plesa for Centaur Farms. Gottcha Gold stands at J. Michael O'Farrell's Ocala Stud for $2,500 live foal.
