Empress Alexandra drew clear in the final furlong to post a 2 1/4-length maiden special weight win Oct. 12 at Thistledown, making her the third winner for First-Crop sire Jess's Dream.
Jess's Dream also recently got his first stakes horse, on Sept. 26, when the winner Restofthestory finished a solid second in the $400,000 My Dear Girl S. at Gulfstream Park. After standing for $5,000 this year, the Ocala Stud stallion is currently the leading Freshman sire in Florida.
Empress Alexandra, owned by Ivan Morell and Jason DaCosta, tracked in fourth before making a four-wide move entering the stretch. She ran past Ceviche in mid-stretch and pulled away from there for a comfortable win.
The winner was bred in Florida by Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings and hails from the family of Grade 2 winner Dollar Bill.
