Currency Swap in Top 5 on Experimental Handicap

High Cotton's Grade 1 winner Currency Swap was given a weight of 120 pounds on the recently released. Experimental Handicap, fith best among all 2-year-olds of 2011. The Jockey Club Experimental Free Handicap, published annually since 1935, is a weight-based assessment of the previous year’s leading 2-year-olds, with the weights compiled by racing secretaries for a hypothetical race at 1 1/16 miles on dirt.

Currency Swap's win in the Grade 1 Hopeful S. at Saratoga was his second in as many starts. He has earned $180,000 for co-owners Klaravich Stables and William Lawrence. Given a break late in the year, Currency Swap began his preparations for a comeback with a three furlong workout Jan. 28 at Gulfstream Park.

High Cotton had two other juveniles on the list: Tarpy's Goal, who ran second in Belmont Park's Grade 2 Futurity S. and was a recent easy allowance winner at Gulfstream; and Angel's Tune, who was stakes placed at Monmouth Park in October.
