In Summation's lifetime leading earner Calculator made a triumphant return to the races March 2nd at Santa Anita Park with a game victory in a 6 1/2-furlong allowance contest on the downhill turf course (

This was 5-year-old Calculator's first start since last July, which also happened to be his only prior start on the grass.
Winner of the 2015 Sham S. (G3), as well as owning a trio of runner-up finishes in Grade 1 events, Calculator is now being pointed to a grass campaign for 2017 according to his trainer Peter Miller.
"I'd really like to give him a shot to be a good grass horse," Miller said. "I think he's got a chance to be a top miler on the grass, so that's the plan right now, but certainly dirt is an option."
Thursday's win upped Calculator's earnings to $483,260 for owner Richard Pell.
