Calculator finds home on Santa Anita turf
Monday, July 3, 2017
Calculator's win in a salty downhill turf allowance Monday at Santa Anita Park put the son of In Summation over the half-million dollar mark in career earnings.

The win was also Calculator's second of the meet on the Santa Anita downhill turf course, and likely solidified his future on the grass.

Last after the first quarter-mile, Calculator split horses with about two furlongs to run and then took over the lead in deep stretch, winning by a length in 1:11.97, slightly more than a second off the track record (VIDEO).

“I'll get with [owner] Mr. [Richard] Pell and we'll talk about it, but we'll probably keep him on the grass for the foreseeable future,” Miller said of the gray 5-year old who is his sire's leading lifetime earner.

Calculator has banked $526,060 from a mark of 4-4-3 in 15 starts, including a win in the 2015 Sham S. (G3). He was bred in Florida by Ocala Stud.
