Bridgeburner jumps into winner's ranks at Woodbine
Sunday, October 9, 2011
Florida's leading freshman sire High Cotton racked up his ninth winner from his first crop on Oct. 9 when Bridgeburner secured a half-length victory with a strong surge in the final sixteenth-mile of the six furlong contest for maiden 2-year-olds.

Bridgeburner, bred by Ocala Stud, is 1-1-0 in three starts, earning $45,194. The farm also consigned and sold the colt at this April's OBS 2-year-old select sale to his current owner Ian Howard. Bridgeburner is a half-brother to 2005 Spectacular Bid S. winner Rocky River.

High Cotton, also a top-10 national first-crop sire, has accounted for Hopeful S. (G1) winner Currency Swap as well as stakes-placed runners Tarpy's Goal and Angel's Tune from his first year's offspring.
