Awesomebrotherbill was a one-length maiden special weight winner over a sloppy Monmouth Park racetrack on Monday afternoon to become the sixth winner for First-Crop sire Awesome Slew.

Awesome Slew is in the top-10 nationally by First-Crop winners, and second for new sires standing in Florida.

Awesomebrotherbill was never more than a length from the lead in the five-furlong contest for 2-year-olds. With four horses battling for the top spot coming into the stretch, Login Required, on the far outside, drifted in on multiple occasions in the lane, causing a pair of horses, including Awesomebrotherbill, to alter course at different in the stretch. Awesomebrotherbill, who finished a troubled second, was awarded the victory.

The winner is owned by Happy Tenth Stable and was bred by Ocala Stud. The chestnut colt is the first foal out of Baby Sister, whose half-sister Shane’s Girlfriend was a two-time graded stakes winner.
