R Disaster ran away from the field in the Delaware Park stretch, cruising to a 6 ½-length victory on the $100,000 Rehoboth S. on May 31st.
The 4-year-old Awesome Slew filly was coming off a pair of narrow losses in graded company and proved much the best in Saturday’s six-furlong contest. She sat just off the flank of Miss Harriett for three furlongs, then when given her cue, easily took command. She widened her lead at will in the stretch to win in hand in 1:09.83 on a fast track.
R Disaster has been remarkably consistent in her career, with five wins and four seconds in nine lifetime starts. She has earned $320,180 for owners Averill Racing LLC, Two Eight Racing and Anthony Mattera. She was bred in Florida by Ocala Stud & J. Michael O'Farrell Jr.
