Amen Hallelujah draws post 13 for Kentucky Oaks
Tuesday, April 27, 2010
Montbrook's daughter Amen Hallelujah will try to make post position 13 a lucky one when she goes postward in the 136th Kentucky Oaks (G1) on Fri., Apr. 30 at Churchill Downs. Amen Hallelujah was made the 8-1 co-second choice on the morning line by oddsmaker Mike Battaglia.

Amen Hallelujah comes into the Oaks with an impressive 4-2-2 record in nine lifetime starts. Her only off-the-board finish came in her debut last June at Arlington Park. Her resume this year includes wins in the Santa Ynez (G2) at Santa Anita and an easy win in the Davona Dale (G2) at Gulfstream Park. Most recently, she was a clear second to Devil May Care in the Bonnie Miss (G2).

With Devil May Care opting for the Kentucky Derby (G1), Amen Hallelujah's trainer Rick Dutrow, Jr. was naturally relieved. “That’s okay by me,’’ he said.

Julien Leparoux has the Oaks mount aboard Amen Hallelujah. Post time for the Apr. 30 race, which is the 11th on the card, is 5:45 EDT.

Amen Hallelujah is Montbrook's leading money earner in 2010; he is currently ranked fourth on Florida's general sire list. He was the leading sire in that state in both 2008 and 2009.
