Shane's Girlfriend was spectacular in the $400,000 Delta Downs Princess S., rolling to a 13 1/4-length victory in the stakes debut for the 2-year-old daughter Adios Charlie. 

Shane's Girlfriend is the first Graded Stakes winner for her sire, who ranks in the top five on Florida's Second-Crop Sire list. His largest crop of foals, 125, will be 2-year-olds of 2017.

After tracking in second behind Flatter Up for five furlongs, Shane's Girlfriend and jockey Flavien Prat made a move for the lead. Taking over just after six furlongs in 1:11.71, the bay filly quickly drew clear, leaving the stunned field of nine in her wake.

The final time for the mile was 1:37.98.

Bred in Florida by Ocala Stud, Shane's Girlfriend was a $95,000 2-year-old purchase at the Ocala sale in June of 2016, where she was purchased by Dennis O'Neill on behalf of his partners ERJ Racing and W. C. Racing. She broke her maiden at first out at Santa Anita, winning by 5 3/4 lengths. The Princess marks the second win of the filly's career and boosted her earnings to $270,000.
