Crocodile Charlie won a four-way battle in deep stretch to win Friday's $50,000 Ocala Flame H. at Gulfstream Park H., the first stakes victory for the 3-year-old Adios Charlie colt.
The outcome of the 6 1/2-furlong Ocala Flame was in doubt until the final strides, when Crocodile Charlie emerged from a four-horse tussle to win by nearly one length in 1:17.03 over a “good” main track.
The winner is owned by Span Investments and Rohan Crichton, who is also his trainer. He was bred in Florida by Suzanne Sharra-Maxwell.
Adios Charlie has been a top-10 sire in Florida for each of the past three years, and with his largest crop of 2-year-olds to date in 2017, is currently ranked third on the Florida General Sire list.
