A High Cotton filly that brought $400,000 during Day 2 of the OBS Spring Sale of 2-year-olds in Training brought abundant praise from her buyer Mike Ryan.

Consigned by Ocala Stud, the filly was cataloged as hip No. 404.

“She's a homebred filly,” Ryan commented. “She's a very straightforward filly, terrific demeanor and disposition. She had the aura of an elite horse. Elite horses have an aura about them. They stand out and she stood out.

“Three foals to race out of the mare and two of them are graded stakes winners,” Ryna continued. “They have run big numbers on the sheets, they are running twos and threes.”

Ryan also extended his praise to Ocala Stud for the job they do.

“Ocala Stud, in my opinion, is right up on the top of the list of consignors,” Ryan said. “I just love the way they raise horses and their program has been so successful for so long. They do it right. I went to the farm and saw their stallions and I was very impressed. I call it the Claiborne Farm South. I have watched them for years and admired their program, track record and everything about them.”

The filly, who is the fourth-highest seller through the first two days of the four-day auction, is out of West Side Dancer and is a sister to Discreet Dancer (G2 Gulfstream Park H.) and Travelin Man (G2 Swale S.).
