17th winner for FL's Leading Juvenile Sire Kantharos
Wednesday, December 17, 2014
Florida-bred Bulguruisinhwa became the 17th juvenile winner from the first crop by Kantharos, when she broke her maiden going 1200 meters on Dec. 14th.

That victory in South Korea vaulted Kantharos into the number one spot among all Florida juvenile sires, by earnings, stakes horses, and winners. Through racing of December 16th, Kantharos had sired six stakes horses and earners of $820,000, more than any juvenile sire in the Souhteast. His six first-crop stakes horses are the most of any Florida freshman sire since at least 2001.

Kantharos' newest winner was bred by Susan Woods, and first sold at the OBS August yearling sale for $20,000. She then sold at the OBS April Two-Year-Olds Sale for $50,000, after working an eighth in :10 flat. The chestnut miss is out of the young Langfuhr stakes mare Langworthy, and her 2nd and 3rd dams are both multiple stakes producers.

Kantharos is standing the 2015 season at Ocala Stud for $5,000 Live Foal. He is expected to be booked full before the start of the breeding season.
