Monday, September 5, 2016
Florida's leading freshman sire Overdriven accounted for his first multiple winner on Saturday evening when Drive Sandy Drive scored by a commanding 3 3/4-lengths in a 5 1/2-furlong allowance contest at Mountaineer Park.

The Gail Rice homebred was making his first start on traditional dirt after three outings this summer at Presque Isle Downs, where he broke his maiden in his debut on July 21.

Drive Sandy Drive's dam Sweep Machine has produced five winners to date, and she herself won or placed in 20 of her 32 lifetime starts.

Overdriven, the winner of the Sanford S. (G2) at two, has four winners to date from his first crop, all coming at different tracks.
