Kantharos colt rockets to victory in OBS Sprint S.
Tuesday, January 26, 2016
After an early speed duel, Danbury sped to a 1 ½-length victory in Tuesday’s $50,000 OBS Sprint S. at the Ocala Training Center. The 3-year-old chestnut colt earned his first stakes win in eight lifetime outings.

Danbury broke his maiden first time out last July at Gulfstream Park and would go on to be beaten just three lengths in the $300,000 Affirmed S., part of the Florida Stallion Series, in early September.

The Florida-bred is owned by Michael Bernard and trained by William Kaplan.

Kantharos has started 2016 off red hot, with X Y Jet scoring a tremendous win in the $150,000 Sunshine Millions Sprint S., Mr. Jordan running a close second in the $250,000 Sunshine Millions Classic S., and Kandoo running second in the filly division of the OBS Sprint S., giving the Ocala Stud sire four stakes horses in the first month of the year.
