R Adios Jersey continued her rise to stardom Sunday at Tampa Bay Downs with a front-running score in the $110,000 Sophomore Fillies S.

The 3-year-old daughter of Adios Charlie has now won all four of her starts by a combined 18 lengths in a career that began on Dec. 20 at Gulfstream Park. Her earnings now stand at $137,000 for Rich Averill Racing LLC and Anthony Mattera's ATM Racing.

With her regular rider Paco Lopez in the irons, R Adios Jersey took command soon after the start, opening up by two lengths in the first quarter-mile. Fan Fan cut into that margin around the turn, but the eventual winner shook her off and expanded her lead again through the lane, winning by 2 1/2-lengths.

R Adios Jersey's time for the seven furlongs was 1:23.35, less than a second off My Sunshine Gal's stakes record of 1:22.75.

"I'm very, very happy. She ran huge," Averill said. "Paco got to the lead and got her to settle, and I think she got a little breather after the half-mile pole. We had this race picked out after her last start, but we'll take her back to Gulfstream and see how she comes out of this one."

R Adios Jersey was bred by Ocala Stud and Michael J. O'Farrell Jr. The bay filly is out of Marion Theatre, a daughter of Montbrook whose previous four foals are all winners of at least three races. Marion Theatre has a 2-year-old colt by Uncaptured and a yearling colt by Greenpointcrusader. She was bred to The Big Beast last year.

Adios Charlie, who stands for $4,000 this year, is currently Florida's leading sire by both black type winners and black type horses and ranks second by progeny earnings.
