The Big Beast colt scores by a half-dozen lengths in debut
Sunday, December 8, 2019
Hauntedbythemusic ran away from the field in the final furlong to break his maiden by 6 1/4-lengths on Dec. 7 at Tampa Bay Downs in his first career start (VIDEO).

He is the 15th winner from The Big Beast's first crop, tying him for the top spot on the Florida Freshman Sires list. After breeding 113 mares in 2019, his largest book to date, The Big Beast will stand for $6,000 live foal, stands and nurses in 2020.

Hauntedbythemusic was in a three-way duel for the lead most of the way, with Expensive Style to his inside and Drama Chorus, who joined the fray going into the turn, on the outside. Both foes gave it their best effort, but Hauntedbythemusic found another gear in mid-stretch and pulled away impressively to finish the six furlongs in 1:09.69.

The winner is owned by Six SandBaggers Stables and was bred by Sorrento Oaks Farm Inc. One of nine winners out of Usual Manner, Hauntedbythemusic is a half-brother to stakes winner Miss Deplorable.
