Roadster's hip No. 320 breezing at the OBS March Under Tack show - Judit Seipert
Grade 1 winner Roadster was very well-represented during Wednesday session of the OBS March 2-year-olds Sale, with two juveniles bringing in excess of $250,000.
The day was highlighted by hip No. 320, consigned by Omar Ramirez Bloodstock, agent and purchased by Lee Ackerley Racing for $425,000. The dark bay colt, who had breezed a quarter-mile in 21 seconds flat at the Under Tack show, is out of the multiple stakes-placed Stroll mare San Antonio Stroll. She is the dam of Damon’s Mound, winner of the Saratoga Special (G2) and Gallant Bob S. (G2).
Late in the session, Roadster’s hip No. 537, consigned by Ocala Stud, sold for $275,000 to Adelphi Racing Club, LJSS Thoroughbreds and Reeves Thoroughbreds. A gray like her sire, the filly’s dam Alotofappeal has had 12 foals to race, 10 of them winners, topped by multiple stakes winners Epona’s Hope and King Cab and stakes winner B C’s Train.
Roadster, winner of the Santa Anita Derby (G1), was himself a $525,000 Keeneland September yearling and would go on to earn over $900,000. He joined the Ocala Stud roster in 2023 and stands the 2026 season for $7,500 S&N.
