Robbing Robin wins on debut at Gulfstream Park - Lauren King photo
Ocala Stud stallion Greenpointcrusader was represented by his first winner on June 3 when Robbing Robin scored in a 4 ½-furlong maiden special at Gulfstream Park in her career debut.
A Florida homebred for Stonehedge LLC, the bay filly broke on top under Emisael Jaramillo and then took back to rate off the odds-on favorite Lara’s Lady into the far turn. With a determined run through the lane, Robbing Robin collared Lara’s Lady in the final sixteenth and edged clear to post the half-length victory in :52.55. Trainer Kathleen O’Connell saddled the winner who is out of the Any Given Saturday mare My Ladies Choice.
Greenpointcrusader broke his maiden at Saratoga at two and then was a runaway 4 ½-length winner of the 2015 Champagne S. (G1) for St. Elias Stables, MeB Stables and Brooklyn Boyz Stables and trainer Todd Pletcher.
A $575,000 Keeneland September yearling purchase, Greenpointcrusader is a son of Bernardini and is produced from the five-time Graded stakes-producing Cryptoclearance mare Ava Knowsthecode, making him a full brother to Graded stakes winner Algorithms and a half-brother to Grade 1 winner Justin Phillip and multiple Graded stakes winner Keyed Entry.
Greenpointcrusader stands for $3,500 S&N. For more information, please contact David or Joe O’Farrell at 352-237-2171, or visit OcalaStud.com.
