It's Smoking coasts to a debut victory on May 22, 2026 at Gulfstream Park - Ryan Thompson
Top-10 National First-Crop sire Roadster got his second career winner in very impressive fashion May 22 at Gulfstream Park when It’s Smoking rolled to a 7 ¼-length winner in a five-furlong maiden special weight contest for 2-year-olds.
The bay colt was third in the first furlong before making a bold three-wide move around the turn to take the lead outside the quarter-mile mark. With a full head of steam turning for home, It’s Smoking left his foes far behind to coast under the wire in :59.38 on a fast track.
The winner is owned by Kenneth Davis and Ortega Stables and was bred in Florida by Davis and Sherry Mansfield.
With two winners and a runner-up finisher from just four starters to date, Roadster has the highest winning percentage of any first-year stallion. Roadster, winner of the Santa Anita Derby (G1), stands at Ocala Stud for a fee of $7,500 S&N
