Roadster’s sixth overall first-crop winner Monday at Gulfstream Park was one of his most impressive to date as Road to Midnight cruised to a 6 ½-length win in a five-furlong maiden special weight turf affair for 2-year-olds.
The dark bay colt was fastest away from the gate and never gave his foes a chance to catch him. He opened up two lengths in the first quarter-mile, then proceeded to widen at will on the turn and down the stretch. The final time on the firm course was :55.67.
Road to Midnight is owned by Champion Equine LLC, who purchased him for $100,000 out of the 2026 OBS Spring Sale from the Ocala Stud consignment in April. The winner was bred in Florida by Richard B. Bennett, Jr. & Michael Majeski and is out of Midnight Candy, a granddaughter of Canadian champion 3-year-old filly Gandria.
Roadster’s excellent start at stud has him in third on the First-Crop sire list, and he is one of only three freshman sires with a stakes winner.
