Puntrooskie rolls to dominant win in $125K Woodstock S.

In Summation's 3-year-old son Puntrooskie powered to a five-length win in the $125,000 Woodstock S. Easter Sunday at Woodbine, the first stakes win for the dark bay sophomore.

In Summation is Florida's second-leading Second Crop sire in both the earnings and winners categories. He is also one of only three  Florida sophomore stallions to sire a stakes winner.

Coming into the Woodstock off a maiden special weight score March 14 at Gulfstream Park, Puntrooskie proved he was up to the step up into the stakes company. Last in the six-horse field after a quarter mile, jockey Jesse Campbell took his mount around the whole field coming into the stretch, then drew away powerfully for the victory.

The final time for the six furlongs was 1:09.31.

"We were very closely bunched and I was going to throw him to the fence, but as soon as I got there I didn't want to be there," said Campbell. "He was coming up underneath me too easy. He wasn't climbing over the top of them, but I was sitting on a lot of horse and I didn't want to take a chance down in there."

Bred in Florida by Michael and David O'Farrell and Our Sugar Bear Stable, Puntrooskie is out of the multiple stakes-placed mare Siren Cove. Puntrooskie has now won $104,553 for his owner Tucci Stable.
