Pink Cotton goes gate-to-wire in Duke City Sprint S.
Sunday, July 30, 2017
High Cotton, Florida’s leading active sire of winners and by black type wins in 2017, got his latest stakes winner on July 29 when Pink Cotton battled his way to a three-quarter length score in the $50,000 Duke City Sprint S.

The 3-year-old colt now has three wins in five starts and has earned $66,750 for Tee Off Stable LLC.

The Duke City was a tussle from the outset. Pink Cotton got into stride quickly and had the lead after a handful of jumps from the gate. His main foe, Evolve, gave chase the entire trip, but Pink Cotton fended him off each time to secure the win as the even-money favorite (VIDEO).

Pink Cotton is the first stakes winner out of his dam Lady in Pink, who won or placed in seven stakes in her career.  Pink Cotton sold for $85,000 at the 2016 OBS Spring Sale of 2-year-olds in training.
