Awesome Slew and Win Win Win both have horses among the 13 entries for Saturday’s Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint (G1) at Keeneland.
Awesome Slew’s speedy R Disaster drew post 4, while Win Win Win’s Nooni is on the far outside in the field of 13 that will travel seven furlongs.
R Disaster was brilliant in winning the Oct. 1 Gallant Bloom S. (G2), her most recent start. She also beat Ways and Means in the Derby City Distaff S. (G1) on Derby Day at Churchill Downs. In both races, she earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 103, among the best in the field.
Owned by Averill Racing and Anthony Mattera and bred by Ocala Stud & Michael O’Farrell Jr., R Disaster is 10-6-1 in 18 starts and has earned $1,468,265. She is trained by Saffie Joseph, Jr. and will be ridden by Tyler Gaffalione.
Nooni is riding a two-race winning streak coming into the seven-furlong race. After suffering a setback in late 2024 that ultimately kept her away from the races for 18 months, she is coming into the race with a very strong set of workouts since her latest start on Sept. 13.
Her most recent work at Churchill Downs was Oct. 24, when she blazed through four furlongs in :46.4, second-fastest of 183 horses. The 4-year-old will be ridden by Mario Gutierrez and is trained by Bob Baffert for Zedan Racing Stables. She was bred in Florida by Ocala Stud, Joseph M. O'Farrell III, David O'Farrell, et al
The Filly & Mare Sprint is the first Breeders’ Cup race on Saturday, the fourth on the card at 1:10 pm ET.
