Ms Big Spring, a 10 1/2-length MdSpWt winner at Gulfstream Park

Alex and JoAnne Lieblong’s Florida homebred Ms Big Spring rolled to a 10 ½-length maiden special weight victory at Gulfstream Park on June 30, becoming the newest winner for her first-crop sire The Big Beast.

Produced from the Include mare Spring Included, Ms Big Spring shot out of the gate and assumed the early lead in the 5 1/2-furlong dash. She increased her advantage through the lane to score the sharp win by open lengths under Tyler Gaffailone for trainer David Fawkes.

The Lieblongs also campaigned The Big Beast, who won the prestigious King’s Bishop Stakes (G1) at three, running seven furlongs in 1:22.35. He finished second by a nose in the Vanderbilt Stakes (G1) at four, losing a head bob to multiple Grade winner Rock Fall in 1:08.75 for six furlongs and was also runner-up in the Forego Stakes (G1) behind Private Zone. The Big Beast retired with four wins from nine career starts with earnings of $676,300. He has been represented with first 2-year-olds in the auction ring up to $850,000, $450,000, etc.
