Mr. Jordan earned an 83 Beyer for his debut romp

Mr. Jordan turned in a stellar performance Sunday at Monmouth Park, dispatching a very good group of 2-year-old maidens with ease by 6 ¼-lengths in the career debut for the almost-white Kantharos colt.

The front-running victory, achieved in a quick 1:03.36 for the 5 ½-furlongs, earned the first-time starter a TDN Rising Star tag. Kantharos is Florida’s No. 1 Freshman sire with five winners and earnings of $232,041 to date.

Mr. Jordan was Kantharos’ most expensive 2-year-old to sell this year, bringing $155,000 at the OBS April Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training sale, where he was bought by trainer Eddie Plesa, Jr. Plesa co-owns the colt with his wife Laurie, David Melin, and Leon Ellman.
