A late surge by Savingtime carried the 4-year-old daughter of Kantharos to victory in Sunday's $75,000 Miss Grace H. at Gulfstream Park.
The winner, who had been knocking on the door with three previous stakes placings, earned her first black type score with a determined stretch run, wearing down pacesetter My Dear Venezuela in deep stretch to win by 1 3/4-lengths.
Owned and trained by her breeder Vaughan Heard, Savingtime upped her mark to 3-5-0 in 18 starts and has earned $186,494.
Savingtime is Kantharos' sixth stakes horse of 2016, tops for a Florida sires.
