Jess's Dream filly breaks maiden in Arlington-Washington Lassie S.
Saturday, August 28, 2021
Chacalosa came flying up the rail to win Saturday's $75,000 Arlington-Washington Lassie S. by 1 1/2-lengths to give the Jess's Dream 2-year-old filly her first career win in improbable style (WATCH RACE).

She is the second stakes winner of the year for Jess's Dream joining Grade 3 winner Chess's Dream. Jess's Dream have five stakes horses overall in 2021.

Chacalosa was far back early in the seven-furlong race, then found her stride going into the turn. She made up a considerable part of the deficit, then had to check back behind a fading foe. Guided around that one, she went back to the rail and flew past the field to win going away in 1:25.53 on the fast track.

Chacalosa is owned by her trainer Earl Hughes and is now 1-1-0 in three starts. She was bred in Florida by Midwest Thoroughbreds.
